Warsaw’s KONESER to house exceptional community hub by Google for Entrepreneurs
Across Poland entrepreneurs are creating exciting new businesses. Google is bringing Campus, a space for entrepreneurs to learn, connect and build companies that will change the world to Warsaw, and it will be located at Praga Koneser Center – a mixed use scheme under development by a joint-venture of Liebrecht & wooD Group and BBI Development SA on the site of the former Warsaw Vodka Distillery.
Google’s Campus Warsaw will be the first office tenant of such importance for the project. It is part of Google for Entrepreneurs’ global network, including Campuses in London, Tel Aviv, Seoul and coming soon in, Madrid and Sao Paulo. Campus Warsaw will include a Campus Cafe, an event space, coworking space for entrepreneurs and growing startups.
“We are excited to be part of the revitalization of the old Vodka Factory and help support the new generation of creators and entrepreneurs who will innovate here. Our goal in bringing Campus to the startup community in Poland is to help accelerate the growth of Polish startups and help them go global,” said Mary Grove, Director of Google for Entrepreneurs.
“Koneser – a mix of revitalised factory buildings and new facilities replacing the old structures – is to be a thriving spot on the business map of Warsaw. The Polish capital city, together with the endless energy of its residents, constantly provide modern businesses with new perspectives. Koneser is dedicated to companies who pay utmost attention to the quality of working environment. Google Campus Warsaw is the best forerunner of what kind of a place our scheme is going to be,” said Marc Lebbe, Managing Director of Liebrecht & wooD Group.
“Praga has always been a place which attracts creative people and we are confident that Koneser and its stimulating energy for innovative ideas will provide Google Campus Warsaw with all that it needs to grow and realise its mission statements, not only in Warsaw but also in this part of Europe,” said Michał Skotnicki, President of BBI Development SA sites.
The Praga Koneser Center is the first development project in Warsaw which combines so many functions. In addition to residential units, Koneser comprises: 25,500 sq m of office premises and 21,000 sq m of retail area, including boutiques, cosy cafés, restaurants, and service points. The scheme will also boast a conference centre, a hotel, public squares for social and cultural events, as well as the world’s first Museum of Polish Vodka.
Located in the very heart of the Praga district, in a block formed by Ząbkowska, Markowska, Białostocka, and Nieporęcka streets, in close proximity to the 2nd metro line, several tram and bus lines, and Warszawa Wileńska station, the project will provide users with easy access to other districts of the capital.
Google’s Campus Warsaw will open later in 2015, with the delivery of the entire Praga Koneser Center expected in 2017.
