“Marszałkowska i okolice” exhibition

BBI Development SA and Społem Śródmieście Warsaw’s Cooperative of Food Retailers are honoured to announce the opening of a historical exhibition titled “Marszałkowska i okolice” [Marszałkowska Street and its Vicinity], which will take place on 12 August 2014 at 12.00 in front of entrance to the “Sezam” building at ul. Marszałkowska 126.

The exhibition in held in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising. It presents environs of one of the most important parts of the city at the intersection of Marszałkowska and Świątokrzyska Streets, depicting its oldest buildings, the architectural boom of the 19th and early 20th century, the wartime damage, fighting during the Uprising, the new look after 1945, the contemporary era and plans for the future.

The exhibition is accompanied by the book “Marszałkowska Street and its Vicinity” by Jarosław Zieliński, an authority on Warsaw. This is the fifth publication released by BBI Development SA in a series called “Warszawa wielkomiejska” [The Big Warsaw].
