Koneser and Marszałkowska Center in the Spotlight at MIPIM in Cannes

BBI Development S.A., the official partner of the Warsaw booth at the MIPIM market in Cannes, is the only developer that exhibit, along with its partners, three projects currently under development in close proximity to the second metro line which opened last week in Warsaw.

Praga Koneser Center, located near the Dworzec Wileński station, and Marszałkowska Center, under construction near the Świętokrzyska station (where both lines intersect), have been drawing plenty of interest from guests since the first day of the market.

This year’s edition of the MIPIM market coincided with good news for Warsaw and Warsaw residents – the central section of the second metro line opened last weekend.

That is why the urban-forming character of the second metro line is the central theme of Warsaw’s presence in the Cannes market this year’s. The Vice-president of the City, Michał Olszewski, in his speech that inaugurated the cocktail party attended by guests of the Warsaw booth pointed to Praga Koneser Center as a good example of a commercial project which contributes to the revitalization process in Praga. He stressed that the process had only just began, and it would gain momentum in the coming years, which will be facilitated by a huge fund injection from the City.

“Praga will show us its new face. I’m sure the positive changes will be felt both by local residents and Praga business operators. Praga Koneser Center, now under development near the Dworzec Wileński metro station, will no doubt contribute to the development of the district and attract new development. We will create a fashionable, vibrant place located only a few minutes’ ride by metro from Śródmieście”, says Rafał Szczepański, Deputy CEO of BBI Development S.A., who is attending the market.

Praga Koneser Center is a mixed-use project currently being developed on the premises of the former Koneser Vodka Factory, delivered by BBI Development S.A. in partnership with Liebrecht & wooD. The 75.000-square-meter complex will house commercial spaces, offices, lofts and soft lofts. In total, Koneser, which covers an area half the size of Warsaw’s Old Town, will include almost 350 apartments (lofts and soft lofts), 28,000 square meters of commercial space and 22,000 square meters of offices. The complex will also showcase the world’s first Museum of Polish Vodka.
Marszałkowska Center, which is under construction on the opposite bank of the Vistula River, is also closely linked to the development of the underground. It will be Warsaw’s first office building integrated with a metro station. What’s more, it will be the first station where both lines intersect.

“There is no other place like this at the office map of Warsaw”, says Rafał Szczepański, Deputy CEO of BBI Development S.A.

Marszałkowska Center is a modern office and retail building under construction at the intersection of Marszałkowska and Świętokrzyska Streets, in the place of the former Sezam department store. The development will offer a total of approximately 15,500 square meters of usable space, of which 11,000 square meters will taken be offices, and about 5,500 by commercial offerings. The lowest two stories of the building will feature a parking lot for about 100 vehicles.
